Audio Book Month

The month of June celebrates AUDIO BOOKS!!!! When our children were smaller, they loved listening to audio books.  Local libraries usually provide varied selections.  Visit your local library and listen up:-)!!  I googled a few sites; enjoy:-).

April Is Poetry Month!!!

Today begins poetry month!!! Poetry has always been a catharsis for me;-).  My favorite poet is the Honorable Ms. Maya Angelou.   

I would like to share a poem I wrote after a conversation I had with my daughter (age 4 at the time) while deployed to Iraq (05-06).

Like New  

"Hi Mommy!"

"Hi Gwenyth!" "How are you?"

"Mommy, when are you coming home?"

"I'll be home in the summertime."

"When is that?"

"When the flowers have bloomed and the grass is green."

"When you come home everything will be like new again, right Mommy?"

"That's right Gwenyth."

"I love you!"

"I love you too Mommy! o.k."

"O.k., Let me speak to your Daddy.........."
